One Year Ago Today...

We held sweet Kinsey for the first time. We had originally debated on whether to take a visit trip to see her. We thought it would be a short few months and she woud be home forever. We were in the Marriott lobby walking to the telephone to call our coordinator to tell him we were there when we passed our FM and Kinsey sitting in a chair. They were early and we were unprepared. We all 3 stopped dead in our tracks. Of course I was crying because she was beautiful. Danny went on to make the phone call. Kainen was the first one to hold her. All he wanted to do was hold her and hold her standing up. It was so funny because he thought he would be able to carry her everywhere. Well, he soon learned she was alot heavier than expected. I knew long before then that she was our daughter, but to hold her and smell her made it feel so real. Now we can't get enough of her. I never dreamed we would have been there 5 times, going on six in Feb. Sometimes Kainen will stop what he is doing and reach out his hand saying "Mom, smell this, it smells like Kinsey!" Now, I do that sometimes, but it amazes me that he remembers her too. Some of the simples things remind us of her.
Yesterday we called our FM and Kinsey got on the phone. She said jibberish non-stop for about 30 seconds. It was soooooo funny. She was telling us quite a story. She says Mama and Papa on the phone about every time we call. THe niece translates for us and she said that when they come over to her aunt's house, Kinsey associates them with a phone call to us. She thinks that she will get to be on the phone if they are there. So funny.

Well, maybe the next time I have to post a "One Year Ago today post" Kinsey will be sitting on my lap at home in the USA helping me type it.

Here she is from a few weeks ago at her FM's house

Oh Kainen, what a sweet brother. You are so blessed to have such a loving and wonderful foster family! Kinsey definitely knows who are mama and papa are.
